James P. Judkins

James P. Judkins ("Jimmy") is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. A Board Certified Trial Lawyer since 1983, his clients are faced with complex civil, criminal and family law cases. He has maintained Martindale-Hubble's highest "AV" rating since 1984. Named in Best Lawyers in America for over 10 years and in Leading Florida Attorneys, he was also chosen as one of Florida's Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine.

Jimmy is admitted to practice in all of the state courts in Florida, as well as the U. S. Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the U.S. District for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. He has tried complex criminal cases in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, including allegations of health care fraud, commercial crimes, and controlled substance violations. He also litigates civil cases and family law matters involving larger estates, business interests and professional practices. He is also a Certified Mediator.

Jimmy has served as an adjunct professor of Trial Practice at the Florida State University College of Law on several occasions. He is a past President of the Tallahassee Bar Association and former Chairman of the Second Circuit Grievance Committee of the Florida Bar. He was a charter member and Master of the Bench of the Tallahassee American Inns of Court (now the William Stafford Inn), where he also served a term as President of the organization. He has lectured at numerous seminars and is a popular choice as an after-dinner speaker.

Jimmy received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his law degree with honors from the Florida State University College of Law. He and his wife, Kay, have been married since 1973. They have two adult daughters. Jimmy is an avid golfer and duplicate bridge player, having achieved the rank of Life Master. He has served on the board of directors for several local charitable organizations.
